Although the weather may not feel like we are in full on Spring mode, April is here and that means Spring Chicago fashion events! We at Fashionista Chicago rounded up a handful of our must-see shows and events to catch this month around the Chicagoland area. Fashionistas rejoice, a new season for style is here!

This fashionable event will have the Autohaus turned into a runway filled with Spring fashion from some of Chicago’s best Northshore boutiques! Not only will you be up to date on all that is hott on the fashion scene, but you can also shop trunk shows at the event. If that doesn’t make you feel amazing, then knowing that the event this year benefits the Illinois Holocaust Museum will.

Borris Powell Darkness of Ash Fashion Show

He is one of Chicago’s most beloved and talented designers and we are obsessed with every show he puts on! With beautiful fabrics and eye catching detail Borris always captures the audience’s attention. Start your evening with a few cocktails to network and mingle and then take your seat for a show that will have you coveting something from his line for the new season! Oh, and did we mention that Borris is super fun to be around?  So, if you aren’t interested in the fashion, surely you will be captivated by the Borris Powell magic.

My Favorite Outfit Pop-up Stylist Event

My Favorite Outfit

If you are looking for a fun and giving way to share your style and creativity then volunteering for this wonderful event is a must-do! Volunteers will be “stylists” for the day and to help dress the students to teach the connection between self-esteem and the way they dress. There are still a few spots left to volunteer so be sure to contact My Favorite Outfit to share your fashion flare for a great cause.

Fashion Chicago Designer Shopping Event

Style Chicago

Come shop till’ you drop at one of our favorite Chicago shopping events. This will be their 15th season and we think it gets better and better each time. Two ballrooms will be taken over with local makers to shop, complimentary cocktails to sip, hors d’oeuvres to bite into, and a DJ for guests to enjoy. Make this a girl’s night out, because with all of this in one place what else could you ask for!

Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence

This long running event is about to be going into it’s 16th year and this is sure to be one not to be missed. The Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence showcases student designers from local fashion and design schools while they are judged from Chicago professionals and the winner receives a cash prize! Get your tickets to enjoy a cocktail reception before the show and a party to celebrate afterwards.

All of these April fashion events are the perfect way to get some inspiration to amp up your spring wardrobe this year and a great excuse to get out and do something chic! We hope to see our fellow fashionistas enjoying the talent of the Windy City with us in the month of April.
