This Christmas, instead of reviewing all the beautiful window displays, I decided to take a different approach and review Chicago Christmas Cocktail’s.
We started last Thursday by visiting The Whistler on Milwaukee Ave. As I feared, we may have started the Chicago Christmas Round-Up a bit too early. But that didn’t stop us! The Whistler is known for their crafty cocktails, live music and hipster environment. A trendy little spot in Logan Square next to various other microbreweries and pubs. So we perused the cocktail menu and asked the Mixologist for her suggestions.
I chose the Fall Negroni after realizing it was too early for a Christmas Toddy.
Created with Gin, Campari, and Sweet Vermouth; infused with Cinnamon and Star Anise made my mouth tingle. This drink is served with a cinnamon stick after the mixologist swirls the ingredients together giving it a nice touch for taste and appearance.
A lovely combination that wasn’t too intense to start off the Chicago Christmas Cocktail Round-Up.
I hope you follow along as we try other Chicago hotspots to find the perfect Christmas Cocktail!
