How Did You Get Started in the Jewelry Industry?

I started to make jewelry in Art class in high school. I liked it so much that I studied briefly with an independent silversmith while in high school, and went straight into jewelry arts in college. I remember my first teachers well, and I worked hard to impress them. I finished my undergraduate college degree at San Diego State University which was at the time, one of the foremost university programs in the crafts. It was a tough program, that helped me see jewelry as art.

What Made you Decide to go a Bespoke Route Rather Than Selling Quality Retail Pieces?

I have always enjoyed the Process of making fine jewelry. The process of custom making jewelry as a Bespoke creation is constantly challenging and highly rewarding. Every day is something new and it never gets old to make beautiful work.

What Are Some Trends for Wedding Rings and Bands You are Seeing This Year?

Rose gold is the biggest trend of this year in Bridal. Very delicate, and often with a vintage twist. Vintage styles have been hot for awhile, but the rose gold pieces we have been doing lately are fresh and delightful.

What is Your Favorite Kind of Jewelry to Design and Why?

My favorite kind of jewelry to design is always changing. I love to work through concepts and collections of pieces. I love tp create a body of work that shares the same style and themes. My collection of work is really a group of collections. We recently built an extensive collection of Mid century styled pieces called Art Deco Redux.

What Sets Your Business Apart From the Many Other Jewelry Businesses in the Chicago Area?

Our store is really different than most jewelry stores ion Chicago or most places really. We are actually a working studio that creates almost everything we sell. We have an incredibly talented staff who are all experts at their craft. We have built many bespoke collections in the store and specialize in fine custom design. We have been able to take advantage of the new technologies of Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Milling have transformed the making of jewelry into a very streamlined and easily collaborative process. It’s fun to come to the studio every day and challenge the limitations of our craft.

What’s Next for Your Brand?

We are currently developing a new collection of “ Little Diamond Earrings”. There will be lots and lots of variety, all beautifully delicate and classically elegant. Look for this new collection this Fall.
