This year I found unique gifts for Mother’s Day local style. Gifts she will treasure and love because they are ideas you can share together. Whether she starts a new hobby by taking care of her living wall plant or enjoying her gourmet meal packages, you can be assured she will appreciate these gifts more than ever. All of these companies are based right here in our hometown of Chicago. Let’s keep the commerce local and help companies like these grow so they can hire more employees who will then pay taxes which will help create better schools, parks, and keeping you safe. Let’s Go>
GIVE ME SOME SUGAR-Take a baking class with pastry Chef Alekka at Give Me Some Sugar. This space holds classes for basic cake decorating, macarons, French pastries, cupcakes and cocktails and so much more. Give Me Some Sugar is Chicago’s premier cake decorating studio and the chef really know’s how to make it fun and so easy to learn.
ROSCOE BOOKS– Shop at this cute little bookstore in Roscoe Village and give a heartwarming bestseller that has everyone talking. A Man Called Ove is a grumpy yet loveable man finds his solitary world turned on its head when a boisterous young family moves in next door. Maybe sounds familiar? We all have a grumpy neighbor that may need a little attention.
SPROUT HOME– We’re loving this new wall art made with moss and succulents. How would this look in your mom’s house? Too big? Know worries, Sprout has different sizes too. Bonus, you barely have to water them.
CHEFMADE– Make it easy for your mom to eat healthy by signing her up for this Chicago-based meal delivery service. Almost all the meals are $10 or less. Where can you go for a nice dinner for that cost? There is an additional $10 delivery fee that includes tax and tip, which is ultimately the most cost-effective when ordering multiple meals.
Let me know if you have a local idea to share.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s!
